Travel Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse job duties

  • Monitor and assess patients' cardiac status, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic parameters, to detect changes and respond promptly.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including intravenous drips, cardiac medications, and pain management.
  • Assist in the management of acute cardiac events, such as myocardial infarctions, arrhythmias, and heart failure, providing advanced life support as necessary.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with complex cardiac conditions.
  • Educate patients and their families on heart disease, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and post-discharge care to promote recovery and prevent recurrence.
  • Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
  • Operate and maintain specialized cardiac equipment, such as ECG machines, defibrillators, and hemodynamic monitors, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families during critical and stressful situations.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, such as electrocardiograms (ECGs) and blood tests, to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Coordinate patient care and communication between various departments, such as cardiology, radiology, and rehabilitation, to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Participate in continuous education and professional development to stay current with advancements in cardiac care and nursing practices.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all aspects of patient care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in the Coronary Care Unit, adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
