Travel Medical Surgical Registered Nurse job duties

Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and overall health, identifying and responding to any changes promptly.
Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous fluids as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to protocols.
Provide comprehensive care for patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions, including post-operative care, wound management, and pain control.
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and post-discharge care to promote health and recovery.
Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, ensuring patients' comfort and safety throughout the process.
Document patients' medical histories, assessments, treatments, and progress accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, helping them cope with illness and hospitalization.
Coordinate patient transfers to other departments or facilities as required, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
Ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education to stay current with advancements in medical-surgical nursing practices.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all aspects of patient care.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all nursing interventions, patient responses, and any changes in condition.
Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support patients' rehabilitation and recovery goals.
Manage emergency situations by providing advanced life support and other critical interventions as necessary.
