Travel Physical Therapist job duties

While job duties may vary depending on the facility you work with, here are some common Travel PT responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' physical conditions to diagnose movement dysfunctions and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Design and implement therapeutic exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
  • Use manual therapy techniques, such as massage and joint mobilization, to alleviate pain and improve mobility.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercise routines, injury prevention strategies, and post-treatment care.
  • Monitor and document patients' progress through detailed notes and reports, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Utilize modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation to assist in pain management and recovery.
  • Instruct patients in the use of assistive devices such as crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs to enhance mobility.
  • Develop rehabilitation programs for patients recovering from surgery, injury, or illness, aimed at restoring function and independence.
  • Conduct fitness and wellness programs to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent future injuries.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
  • Participate in continuous professional development to stay current with advancements in physical therapy techniques and practices.
