Travel Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse job duties

  • Prepare patients for cardiovascular surgeries by conducting pre-operative assessments, verifying medical histories, and obtaining necessary consents.
  • Assist the surgical team during cardiovascular procedures by providing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition throughout the surgery, ensuring prompt detection and response to any changes.
  • Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the surgical team and anesthesiologist.
  • Maintain a sterile surgical environment by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensuring proper sterilization of instruments and equipment.
  • Document all surgical procedures, patient information, and intra-operative care accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective surgical care.
  • Provide post-operative care and monitoring in the immediate recovery phase, ensuring patients' stability and comfort.
  • Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, potential complications, and follow-up appointments to promote recovery.
  • Ensure all surgical equipment and instruments are properly maintained, sterilized, and ready for use in procedures.
  • Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with advancements in cardiovascular surgical techniques and practices.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all aspects of surgical care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in the Cardiovascular Operating Room, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
