  • Prepare and administer radioactive isotopes to patients for diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures.

  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures, including PET, SPECT, and gamma camera scans, to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality for accurate imaging results.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to protect patients, staff, and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Document patient information, procedure details, and imaging results accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and accurate diagnostic information.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions to radioactive isotopes and take appropriate action if necessary.
  • Perform quality control tests on nuclear medicine equipment and radioactive materials to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Maintain inventory and proper storage of radioactive materials, following strict regulatory guidelines for handling and disposal.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding nuclear medicine procedures and post-procedure care instructions.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all aspects of nuclear medicine practice.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
