KPG Healthcare is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrophysiology (EP) Technician for a permanent position. As an EP Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting with complex cardiac procedures, ensuring the accurate functioning of electrophysiology equipment, and providing exceptional care to patients with cardiac arrhythmias.   • Pay: $65,000 - $90,000, Depending on experience
  • Shift Time: Days, Full Time
  • Weekly Hours: 40

Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of an accredited Electrophysiology Technology program or related field.
  • Certification: Current certification as a Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (CCI - RCES).
  • Licensure: State licensure or certification as required by the state of practice.
  • Experience: Previous experience as an EP Technician is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating electrophysiology equipment and mapping systems.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication Skills, empathy, and a patient-centered approach.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to ethical and confidentiality standards.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting and positioning patients as necessary, and assisting with physically demanding tasks. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procedure Assistance: Assist cardiac electrophysiologist during EP procedures, including catheter ablations, device implantations, and other cardiac interventions.
  • Equipment Setup: Prepare and set up electrophysiology equipment, including mapping systems, ablation catheters, and stimulators, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Patient Preparation: Assist in the positioning an preparation of patients for EP procedures, including prepping and draping the surgical field.
  • Electrophysiology Mapping: Operate electrophysiology mapping systems to collect and analyze cardiac electrical data during procedures.
  • Recording and Monitoring: Record and monitor intracardiac electrograms, ECGs, and other relevant data, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications and solutions as directed by the medical team, including sedation and anti-arrhythmic drugs.
  • Sterile Technique: Maintain a sterile field during procedures, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Documentation: Accurately document procedural details, patient information, and equipment usage, while adhering to regulatory standards. 
  • Post-procedure Care: Assist with patient recovery and transfer, ensuring a smooth transition to the post-procedure unit.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of EP equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
