• Provide compassionate care to patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
• Monitor fetal and maternal vital signs, including heart rate, contractions, and blood pressure.
• Assist in the delivery process, providing support to patients and their families.
• Administer medications, including pain management options such as epidurals and IV medications.
• Assist with prenatal and postpartum education to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and infant.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including OB-GYNs, midwives, and pediatricians, to ensure optimal care.
• Perform assessments and document patient progress, including labor stages, complications, and birth outcomes.
• Educate patients on various birthing techniques and comfort measures.
• Respond to emergencies, including fetal distress, hemorrhaging, or other life-threatening situations, with quick, decisive actions.
• Maintain and update patient records according to hospital policies and legal requirements.
• Provide emotional support to families, addressing concerns, and providing reassurance during labor and delivery.
• Assist with post-delivery care, including newborn assessments and immediate bonding time with the mother.
• Follow infection control protocols and ensure a sterile environment in delivery rooms.
• Participate in continuing education to stay current with the latest L&D practices and techniques
