Speech & Language Pathologist - Acute - (SLP)

Available Shifts: 12 D
Pay Rate: $1863.00 - $2146.50
SLP- Acute/Pedi needed asap for 13 weeks
Required:
*Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology and holding a current Speech Pathologist license in the State of California.
*1 Year of experience
Preferred:
*Pediatric Experience
*Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
BLS within 2 month of hire and on-going
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to instruct/comfort patients/families; to maintain effective communication/contact with healthcare team members
Analytical skills necessary in order to prioritize workload develop solutions to problems concerning patient’s body, mind, and spirit
Basic computer knowledge including: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Intranet
Ability to learn Computer software programs including, but not limited to: Cerner Millennium, Policy Manager, OneSource, HPF, One Content, etc.
Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English
The Speech Language Pathologist position at NIHD is about 98% outpatient and 2% inpatient/acute.
Outpatient: Approximately 60-70% pediatrics (all diagnoses and ages) and 30-40% adults (mostly post stroke or other neuro diagnoses). Usually 1 outpatient MBSS per week.
Inpatient: We have very few patients in our inpatient setting who require SLP, but the most common diagnoses are acute stroke or other neuro conditions (all adults). Rarely to never do we have pediatric patients for SLP in acute care.

Speech/Language Pathologist, Acute
Experience: 1 year
Licenses: SLP-CA
Certifications: BLS-AHA(Copy needed)
AND
Speech/Language Pathologist, Pedi
Experience: 1 year
On Call: once a month
SSN Required
