Travel Interventional Radiologist job duties

  • Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization and other interventional procedures by explaining the process, obtaining informed consent, and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as angioplasty, stent placement, and electrophysiology studies.
  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment, including fluoroscopy machines, intravascular ultrasound, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, to ensure accurate imaging and data collection.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during procedures, responding to any changes promptly and efficiently.
  • Administer contrast agents and medications as directed by the physician, ensuring proper dosage and patient safety.
  • Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized.
  • Document procedural details, patient information, and any complications accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care before, during, and after procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the cath lab, including stocking supplies, checking equipment functionality, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Provide patient education and post-procedure care instructions to ensure a smooth recovery and address any concerns or questions.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in cath lab technology and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all aspects of cath lab operations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, calibration, and quality control tests.
  • Support the healthcare team during emergency situations, providing advanced life support and critical interventions as needed.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and students, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
