  • Prepare patients for mammography procedures by explaining the process and answering any questions they may have.
  • Position patients and adjust mammography equipment to ensure optimal imaging results while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
  • Perform mammograms, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis and interpretation by radiologists.
  • Maintain and operate mammography equipment, ensuring it is properly calibrated and in good working condition.
  • Adhere to established protocols and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in mammography.
  • Document patient information, procedure details, and imaging results accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations and other relevant laws.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and follow-up for patients.
  • Monitor and assess patients for any adverse reactions or complications during and after the mammography procedure.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients, addressing their concerns and promoting a positive experience.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in mammography technology and practices.
  • Assist with quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure consistent and accurate imaging results.
  • Prepare and maintain records of equipment maintenance, calibration, and quality control tests.
  • Educate patients on breast health, self-examinations, and the importance of regular mammography screenings.
