  • Prepare patients for X-ray procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Position patients correctly to obtain high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring proper alignment and minimal movement.
  • Operate X-ray equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures, adjusting settings as needed to capture clear images.
  • Administer contrast agents as required to enhance image quality and assist in diagnosis.
  • Monitor patients during procedures to detect any adverse reactions to contrast agents or changes in condition, responding promptly if needed.
  • Review and evaluate X-ray images for clarity, completeness, and diagnostic quality, ensuring all necessary views are captured.
  • Document patient information, procedure details, and any observations accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings, ensure accurate diagnoses, and provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot X-ray equipment, performing routine maintenance and reporting any malfunctions for repair.
  • Ensure a sterile and clean environment by adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining the cleanliness of the X-ray suite.
  • Follow established protocols and safety guidelines to protect patients, staff, and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Educate patients and their families on the X-ray process, including any pre-procedure preparations and post-procedure care instructions.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in radiographic technology and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all aspects of radiographic imaging practice.
